First Jury Duty, then Once Upon a Crime Bookstore

My week ahead

After a pleasant and successful visit to Fair Trade Books in Red Wing on Saturday, the coming week will be different. Thanks to all the new customers and old friends who stopped by to say “hi” and buy a book or two (or three!)

First, Jury Duty

This will be my first experience and I’m looking forward to it, despite the hour-long commute to the courthouse in Minneapolis. If I actually serve on a jury, I’m sure I’ll get some first-hand info on how the court system works, which will come in handy if I ever write a courtroom scene in a future book. Too bad I couldn’t have done this before I wrote Dangerous Straits. 🙁  I might have changed those two courtroom scenes.

Next event: Once Upon a Crime Books in Minneapolis

Perhaps the funkiest crime/mystery/thriller bookstore you’ll ever visit. Subterranean, small, tightly packed shelves, and books displayed literally floor to ceiling! It is so fun just to hang out there and browse the shelves. If OUAC doesn’t have a particular book you’re looking for, chances are no bookstore has it. But of course, they can order any book you like and get it for you fast if it is in print.

You can pre-order a copy of Dangerous Straits from OUAC and it’ll be waiting for you to pick up and have it signed by me on Saturday from Noon to 2:00.
