The Week Ahead

The week ahead for the Dangerous Straits book launch tour will be relatively quiet until Saturday. That should be an exciting day. I’m signed up for a new book-selling opportunity in Owatonna called the Rustic Mamas’ Market. The good news is, the event will be indoors–because Spring has not yet sprung in the Upper Midwest thanks to the cold, rainy weather. It’ll be in the Four Seasons Centre on the Steele County Fairgrounds on the south side of Owatonna.

From what I can tell, DOZENS of vendors of all stripes will be selling their wares at the RMM: crafters, antique-ers, flea market folks, and home-based businesses of all sorts. Best of all, Saturday is the day before Mothers’ Day, which makes it a great event to find that perfect one-of-a-kind gift for your Mom or the other moms in your life. It’s a celebration of small, independent businesses! Here are the details:

AFTER the week ahead

If you happen to be a retired Owatonna area educator, don’t miss my chat with these nice folks the Monday after RMM:

  • MONDAY, MAY 9, 10 am -11 am. Owatonna Area Retired Educators Association (OAREA). Torey’s Restaurant, Owatonna MN. Author presentation to the group.

I have a presentation planned that I hope the group will enjoy. I feel a kinship with these retired teachers because I was a teacher early in my career. Based on my experience, I know how hard it is to succeed as a teacher. I’m sure it has only gotten tougher since the mid-1980s.

Keep checking my Events and Appearances page for updates and new events. I just added one in Elysian on July 3rd that might be lots of fun too since it’s part of Elysian’s Fourth of July festivities.

  • (Tentative) SUNDAY, JULY 3, 8:00 am- 2:00 pm. Elysian 4th of July Flea Market. Main Street, Elysian MN

I hope to see you all at one of these events. If you can’t make it, tell your friends and family.
