CONTENDING FOR AN AWARD

THREE THINGS

First, I’m pleased to announce that Dangerous Straits is officially contending for an award. I was recently notified that the third book in my Matt Lanier thriller series made the Long List for the 2022 Chanticleer Book Review CLUE Awards given to the best entrants in the Suspense/Thriller category of the Chanticleer Internationa Book Awards (CIBA). 2022 CLUE Awards Long List

You may recall that Straight River was honored as a Finalist in the 2020 CLUE Awards.

I’m hoping Dangerous Straits does as well or better than Straight River. It’s a slow judging process with many levels. The good part about the CLUE Awards is that multiple judges read the books as they progress up the ladder to the eventual winner. Some contests only have one judge, while a few don’t even read the entire book. So this one carries more legitimacy than many contests. Wish me luck.

REMINDER

The weather forecast looks good for making a day trip down from the Twin Cities or elsewhere in southern MN. It’s a new event for me, so as usual, I’ll go in with high hopes and low expectations. Check it out for some local holiday shopping and give me a strong finish to the Dangerous Straits Book Launch Tour.

FINALLY

I sent the manuscript of Little Mountain, Big Trouble to my beta readers on Monday. I hope they’ll all read and critique  my first attempt at a middle-grade adventure story ASAP so I can proceed with the final editing and start the production. Always exciting when a book comes into view of the finish line. I hope to share it with you and the world sometime in 2023. Stay tuned.
