The Straight River Book Tour continues.
For the next stop on the Straight River Book Tour, I hope to see you all at a celebration called Mainstreet Day. It’s a large, festive, small-town street fair in Hopkins on Saturday, May 18, from 9:00 am-4:00 pm. The location is Main Street between 7th Ave and 12th Ave in downtown Hopkins MN. Come for the food, arts and crafts, music, kids activities, and leave with a mystery-thriller, Straight River, which will keep you up reading late at night and cause you to see musician heroes in a different light.
The book’s settings include Minneapolis, St. Paul, the halls of the state capitol building, the small (fictional) farming town of Straight River MN, a classy jazz club, Duluth, Ely, and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. If you like mysteries, thrillers, conspiracies, ordinary heroes, romance, deception, greed, ruthlessness, and intrigue of all sorts (Who can you trust? Are childhood best friends still best friends in adulthood?), then this is the book for you.
Next up after Mainstreet Day is my appearance at my hometown library, the gorgeous 100+-year-old Owatonna Public Library. I’ll be speaking at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 4, in the Gainey Room on the 3rd floor. My topic is tentatively titled “Everything You Always Wanted to Ask About Writing a Novel but Were Afraid to Ask?” Translation: Ask me anything about my journey as an author and the inner workings of the writer’s mind. I’ll have signed copies of Straight River and Castle Danger available for purchase. I”d love to meet you and chat about books, writing, and literacy. We can even discuss how well the Minnesota Twins are playing this spring. World Series, here we come!
