Welcome a New Bookstore

There’s a New Bookstore in “Town.”

I’m excited to tell you that Albert Lea, MN, has a new bookstore. It’s long overdue for a town that’s as large as Owatonna. The store is AJ’s Book Hideaway, 705 Marshall St, in Albert Lea. An author colleague, and now friend, Jason Lee Willis, will join me in conversation to kick off the author conversation series, AJ’s Crime & Cocktails, at the Thirsty Fox Pub in Albert Lea. This all happens on Saturday, February 17, from 1:00 pm-2:30 pm.

It promises to be a fun afternoon because I’m a crime writer and Jason is more of a historical fiction, adventure, spirituality writer who focuses on early Minnesota history pre-statehood. Jason is a walking expert on people like Joseph Nicollet, Alexander Ramsey, Le Seuer, Schoolcraft, the various Dakota and Ojibwe tribes, and many other movers and shakers in early Minnesota politics. His logline for those novels is “Indiana Jones meets Harry Potter.” We’re going in unscripted, so we don’t know where the conversation will take us. All I know is, neither of us is at a loss for words when it comes to talking about books and reading.

May be an image of 2 people, drink and text that says 'AUTHOR MEET & GREET JASON LEE WILLIS CHRIS NORBURY A KILLER COMBINATION CRIME & COCKTAILS MINNESOTA FICTIONAL MYSTERIES'

Although the event is sponsored by the bookstore, the event will happen at the Thirsty Fox Pub, so come on in, grab a drink, relax, and get to know two diverse authors who have more in common than you may think. (hint, hint–it has to do with education and water!) See below for more details. Free but limited seating. Reservation required.

Reviews

Keep them coming, folks. Reviews are steadily trickling onto the various sites like Goodreads.com for my thrillers, but I’d still love to see more reviews or ratings posted for Little Mountain, Big Trouble. Here’s the link again: LMBT Review
